Fund Raising 2010 – 2011
In June, the Parent Association presented Holy Trinity Principal Mr. James Tobin with a cheque for €18,000, the total of all funds raised by the Parent Association in the academic year 2010 – 2011.
Once again, the PA was delighted with the support received from the parents and friends of Holy Trinity throughout the year. All events, like the Christmas Fair, the Race Night and the Book Fair, were magnificently supported by you. All money raised helps the school in many ways and our children benefit from the teaching resources and equipment this fund-raising helps provide. An outline on how these funds are being used will be outlined in our next bulletin.
We thank all of you who contributed to our fund-raising efforts. Thanks to the PA Fundraising committee for their efforts during last year. . .
Parent Association Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Annual General Meeting of the Parent Association will take place on Monday, October 3rd, in Holy Trinity at 8:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. The outgoing PA members will be taking names of parents/ guardians who would like to join our various groups and committees, be it Fund Raising, Fruit Friday, Parents & Toddlers, Film Club, or Uniform Swap Shop co-ordinator. The school continues to grow, and so too have the demands on the Parent Association and its committees. Come along and find out about the work of the Parent Association and how you can get involved in helping our children and Holy Trinity.
Fruit Friday
Fruit Friday returns on Friday, 16th September. Please note that this year, Fruit Friday is being offered to ALL classes.
Pupils from all classes are asked to bring in a piece of fruit. On Friday mornings, pupils can leave their fruit in the fruits baskets in the school corridor. The fruit will be collected by the parents and prepared for distribution to the classes during break-time. As always, we are looking for parents/guardians of each class to take turns to help prepare and chop fruit on Friday mornings. We will start with Junior infants for the month of September moving onto the Senior infants October and so forth. So each class has a couple of parents for that month. The Teachers Staffroom is the venue for the preparation. We appeal to parents to join in and help out. It takes no more than 30 minutes to prepare the fruit
Fruit Friday has been a great success over the past years, with pupils getting to try different fruits, and parents getting the chance to meet other parents.
Parent & Toddler Group
The Parent & Toddler group will re-start on Wednesday 28th September at 10:00am. The Parent & Toddler Group was set-up for parents of pre-school age children to come and meet in Holy Trinity each week.
The group meets during term each Wednesday morning, from 10:00 am to 12 noon.
Uniform Shop
The Uniform Shop needs your help. The Shop will continue this year, but needs more clothes, in particular, tracksuits, small and big. So if you have Holy Trinity Uniform items you no longer need, please contact the Parent Association.
Wine Tasting
You are invited to one of the first social events of the new school year. We plan to hold a Wine Tasting evening on Thursday 29th September at 8:00 pm in Holy Trinity hosted by Nectar Wines, Sandyford Village. Everyone is welcome to attend. The event is free of charge.
Coffee Morning
You are invited to attend a Coffee Morning on Thursday 6th October in Holy Trinity. We plan to meet after the morning drop-off on the first Thursday of each month. We look forward to seeing you there. The event is free of charge.
Thank You Holy Trinity Staff – Thank You Parents
Holy Trinity Principal, Mr. Tobin asked us to convey his and the staff’s thanks for the generous contribution made to the staff by the parents. He said that the staff had a very enjoyable night out from the proceeds of the collection made for the teachers at the end of the last school year (this was instead of individual presents from the children and parents). Over €700 was raised.
Parenting Programme
You may have seen the posters around the school regarding the HSE’s Incredible Years Parenting Programme which starts on Wednesday, September 21st. This year, the HSE are offering courses in the morning and in the evening. It runs for 12 weeks (excluding school holidays) at the HSE Leopardstown Primary Care Centre in Leopardstown Shopping Centre. There’s no charge. The programme is run by a Clinical Psychologist Colm Smyth from our local HSE Primary Care Team. If you are interested in this programme, telephone Colm on 087 931 7261.
Fund Raising 2011 – 2012
Another year begins, and so does the Fund-raising efforts. Please look out for notes and posters relating to upcoming events throughout the course of the year. In particular, look out for the calls for help for each of the events. We need help to run events such as the Film Club, Book Fair, Race Night and the Christmas Fair (see below).
Christmas Fair
We have begun work on the 2011 Christmas Fair. Once again, this will be a major event for Holy Trinity. And there are many ways in which you can help. Look out for the notes going home over coming weeks.
Next Parent Association Monthly Meeting
Following the AGM, the first Parent Association meeting of the 2011/12 academic year will take place on Monday, October 10th in Holy Trinity at 8:30pm. The main order of business on the night will be the election of new PA officers, Class Reps and groups and sub-committee co-ordinators.
