Hello! And welcome to my recount of events of the influential things I took part in during my time on the student council.
Student council is, similar to what my sister will say, a group of children who get together each week, so that the children in the school have a voice and voice their opinions about the school.
I was chosen for student council near the end of 5th class, and I was very excited! When our first meeting took place, I hadn’t a clue what to expect as it was relatively new, however I was certain it would be a blast. I was correct. The first meeting was introductory, but it made me so excited to be included and talk about things in the school!
At our second meeting we made lists and brainstormed certain ideas. We then sent in the ideas and waited for Mr. Tobin to approve. He approved of 3! We started planning the Christmas assembly of that year until we got news that our beloved vice principal, Ms. Brennan, was sadly leaving. We decided for her to leave on a good note and helped plan the assembly for her departure. We gave her flowers and many other kinds of things and everyone (including Ms. Brennan!) enjoyed themselves.
Now our big project was the Christmas activities for the assembly. We decided to make an assortment of sweets in a jar, an art competition and a dress up day! For sweets in a jar, we went around the school with a jar of sweets for each year group and asked the amount they thought was inside. Whoever was closest or got it correct won! The winners would be given their prizes and the jar at the Christmas Assembly.
The art competition was where students' imaginations could run wild! The students were able to paint and do anything else they wanted and could design a winter themed picture. The student council voted for the one that stood out the most! The prize was a voucher for the Art and Hobby shop and the winners were also announced at the Christmas Assembly.
Dressing-up day was held on the last day of term where everyone was allowed to dress up! The most creative class got a homework pass! We also did so many little things with big impacts on our school too!
My time at student council is such a fond memory I will take to secondary school! To the new student council, or anyone starting who might be on it, enjoy it!

Hello everyone, I am here to tell you what I’m excited to do in the student council. First, let me introduce what exactly the student council does! Student council is like a group of people, specifically two members from each class, (3rd class up) who organise fun events for the students. They help a lot around the school, and you have a lot of responsibility which you are a part of! I, for one, am very happy I got chosen to be a member of the student council! I’m especially excited for organising events at Christmas time and most other holidays!
As it’s the 20th anniversary of the school, we are very busy working very hard, to ensure that you have a splendid time here at Holy Trinity! We are thinking of astonishing ideas for the school’s 20th anniversary! I’m also very excited to choose next year's student council, even though it’s a while away, I still look forward to it all. I dearly hope that this Student Council will be as good as last years!
I am also super excited for the library job that was only recently created. The library job is when six people from either 3rd class, 4th class, 5th class, or 6th class go to the library and organise and clean it a little. This happens on Fridays and the occasional Monday. But most of all, I’m elated to help the school and everyone inside it! I look forward for the year ahead and I hope you do too!
Thank you!
