Dear Parents,

The service of Light will take place this week on  Tuesday the 18th   for Ms. Doherty’s 6th class and Wednesday the 19th of January for Ms. Ní Bhroin’s class at 7pm. Please ensure that all pupils are wearing their full school uniform and a reminderonly two adults are permitted to attend.

Children who have symptoms of COVID-19 should stay at home, isolate and arrange to have a PCR test, either online or through a GP.

Children who are generally unwell or off-form should not attend school.
The symptoms of COVID-19 (coronavirus) are:
·        fever (high temperature - 38 degrees Celsius or above) - including having chills

·        dry cough

·        fatigue (tiredness)
loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this could mean they're completely gone or just different to normal

·        nasal congestion (runny or blocked nose)

·        conjunctivitis (also known as red eye or pink eye)

·        sore throat

·        headache

·        muscle or joint pain (aches and pains)

·        different types of skin rash

·        nausea or vomiting

·        diarrhoea

·         chills or dizziness

·        COVID-19 symptoms can be like symptoms of cold, flu or hay fever.

You may not have all of the symptoms or your symptoms may be mild. Symptoms may vary for different age groups or different variants of the virus. You can still get infected if you are fully vaccinated. But your symptoms may be mild.

Note – If a pupil is identified as a CLOSE CONTACT of a case in their HOUSEHOLD they will have to restrict their movement as per national guidelines for household close contact and get a PCR test as soon as possible and should not attend school.

Once the school reopens, we ask parents to contact the school if your child contracts Covid-19 to let us know , so that other parents can be informed in the class pod.

All pupils from Third to Sixth Class should wear masks in school.

We continue to implement all other safety measures set out in the School Covid 19 Response Plan.

Please see attached the most up to date ‘Self-Isolation Guide for 3- 13 Yr Olds posted on our website.

Best wishes,

James Tobin

Principal
