Parents Association

Parents Association
Our Parents’ Association is integral to the success of Holy Trinity National School. All parents and guardians of children attending Holy Trinity are part of the Parents’ Association.Since its establishment in 2005, Holy Trinity National School has flourished into one of the largest schools in the area, now home to just under 600 students. At the heart of this journey stands the Parents' Association—a dedicated group committed to strengthening the bond between the school and families. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in enriching school life through fundraising, educational initiatives, and fostering a strong sense of community.
From organising coffee mornings, parent evenings, and National Parents Council courses, to assisting with supervisory requirements, the Parents' Association serves as a cornerstone of support. Their dedication ensures that students and families remain connected, engaged, and empowered, throughout their children’s educational journey.
A central focus has always been creating meaningful experiences for students. Beloved annual events such as the Junior and Senior Infants Jamboree, 1st and 2nd Class Movie Night, and the 3rd to 6th Class Halloween Disco bring joy and excitement, strengthening friendships and school spirit. The much-anticipated Scholastic Book Fair fosters a deep love for reading, while the Book Blitz, a sponsored reading challenge, encourages students to log their reading hours in hopes of earning exciting rewards.
Celebrating Key Milestones
Recognising the significance of the sacraments of Communion and Confirmation, the Parents' Association proudly hosts celebrations for students and their families on these special occasions. These gatherings provide a warm and welcoming space for the school community to come together, marking these important milestones with joy and tradition.
Equally important is the 6th Class Graduation, a memorable event honouring students as they transition from primary to secondary school. The Parents' Association plays a vital role in ensuring this celebration is special, offering students and families an opportunity to reflect on their journey, achievements, and friendships before embarking on their next chapter.
Commitment to Sustainability and Inclusivity
Sustainability remains a key priority for the parent association, with donation and shop days for pre-loved costumes, Christmas jumpers, and school uniforms—making essentials accessible while reducing waste. A significant milestone was the advocacy for school tracksuits to become the primary uniform, benefiting students and families alike.
The school library, lovingly maintained by parent volunteers, continues to spark excitement among students during their fortnightly visits. Their eager anticipation for each trip is a testament to the impact of a warm and well-run reading space.
Hands-on Learning: Growing Together
Beyond the classroom, the school garden offers hands-on learning opportunities from March to early November. Students actively engage in planting flowers, fruits, vegetables, and berries—fostering environmental awareness and a connection to nature. Each year, classes plant sunflowers in pots, watching them grow alongside their own learning journey.
Fundraising: Driving Progress Forward
Fundraising remains central to the Parents' Association's contributions, ensuring the school's continued growth and progress. The annual Christmas Raffle, made possible through generous donations from local businesses and families, is a much-anticipated event that generates significant funds. Another key initiative, the School Triathlon, invites students to participate in a day of fun, movement, and teamwork, led by teachers and staff.
Looking Ahead: Exciting Changes & Community Growth
Holy Trinity is preparing for an exciting playground redevelopment project, spearheaded by the Student Council and a subcommittee of the Parents' Association. The plan will transform existing play spaces into a sensory garden and fully renovated courts. Once Phase 1 is approved, the school community will unite in fundraising efforts to bring this vision to life.
As we celebrate two decades of learning, growth, and connection, we recognise the unwavering dedication of parents, students, and educators who have shaped our school into the vibrant community it is today.
With continued collaboration and enthusiasm, Holy Trinity National School is poised to embark on its next chapter—united, ambitious, and ever committed to making a difference!
Parents Association Committee
Within the Holy Trinity Parents’ Association, we have a Committee that plays an important role in supporting the partnership between the school and the children’s parents. The purpose of the Parents’ Association Committee is to support the school by organising activities and social events for children and parents, and to fundraise where possible.
