Croke Park Challenge for My Canine Companion
Our Deputy Principal, Caragh Sugrue, recently took part in a very special charity fundraising event for My Canine Companion in Croke Park, where she bravely abseiled from the roof of the Hogan Stand. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience, all in support of an incredibly worthwhile cause.
The day was made even more special by the presence of twenty children from Holy Trinity NS, who attended as supporters. These students were selected through a raffle following our successful Green Day fundraising event in school, which raised €803. Their excitement, enthusiasm, and encouragement created a fantastic atmosphere and helped make the day truly memorable.
Our school community is working towards a very special goal, raising funds to welcome a My Canine Companion support dog to Holy Trinity National School. We hope this support dog will become a valued member of our school community and bring lasting benefits to both students and staff.
A support dog can play an important role in a school setting by helping to create a calm, caring, and inclusive environment. They can support emotional wellbeing, help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage positive social interaction, and provide comfort to children who may need additional support during the school day.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this initiative so far through fundraising, encouragement, and participation. Every donation and every effort bring us closer to achieving our goal.
Thank you to all who contributed to making this event a success. With the continuedsupport of our wonderful school community, we look forward to welcoming our very own canine companion to Holy Trinity National School soon.
