Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating Recent surveys have revealed quite startling details about the inadequacies of children’s diets.
In particular it has been shown that school lunches have tended to be high in sugar and low in fibre.
Holy Trinity National School will encourage healthy and nourishing lunches.
Sweets, Crisps, Chocolate and fizzy drinks are not allowed.

Occasional treats will be allowed, at the discretion of the teacher.
Fruit Friday!! Every Friday we ask your child to bring a piece of fruit to school. A member of the Parents Association will clean and chop the fruit and it will be distributed amongst the children of all classes as a healthy snack!
We would like to consider new ideas so in addition to your contributions; we would also welcome other healthy food ideas. We have introduced carrot sticks, cucumber slices and baby tomatoes on a trial basis.
